A Huge Year for CheerpJ

I am delighted to announce the release of CheerpJ 3.0, a significant advancement in our technology offerings. CheerpJ continues to be a leading solution for leveraging Java applications in web browsers, and this latest version brings even more features, performance enhancements, and compatibility improvements. The positive feedback from our user community has been overwhelming, and we believe that CheerpJ 3.0 sets a new standard for Java-to-WebAssembly solutions.

 

Investment in Developer Resources

In our commitment to supporting developers and ensuring the success of our clients, we have invested heavily in enhancing our developer resources. Our comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and support materials have been updated and expanded to provide an even better user experience. These resources are designed to empower our clients and partners to make the most of our technologies, fostering a collaborative and efficient development environment.

Continued Partnership with Codam

Our longstanding relationship with Codam has been a cornerstone of our success. We are pleased to report that our collaboration with Codam continues to thrive, and they have consistently supplied high-quality interns to augment our workforce. The interns from Codam bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a strong work ethic to our projects, contributing to the overall success of our business. We look forward to further strengthening this partnership in the coming years.

Significant Changes to our Licensing Model

Having reflected on what role we want to play in the WebAssembly ecosystem, early this year we made significant changes to our licensing model. Starting with Cheerp 3.0, all of the compiler core components and libraries are now licensed permissively under the Apache 2.0 / LLVM license. This marks a radical departure from our previous GPLv2 / dual commercial licensing model, allowing for Cheerp 3.0 to be used for any purpose, with no restrictions. With CheerpJ, we have also widened the scope in which the solution can be used with ‘no strings attached’.

Additionally, I am pleased to share that Leaning Technologies has reached a significant milestone in its journey toward maturity. Throughout the year, we have solidified our position in the market, earning the trust of several blue-chip companies. The endorsement from these industry leaders is a testament to the reliability and effectiveness of our solutions. We are honored to have entered into long-term partnerships, signifying a mutual commitment to success.
